I just finished by sport pilot checkride in Gilda (N93443), I'm now a
proud new sport pilot! I hope to be able to join in on some of the
flyins this summer. I flew Gilda down to FOT from EKA early yesterday
morning to avoid a windstorm we had yesterday. I decided to take my
ride at FOT because they have generally less foggy weather than we do
in Eureka. This morning tho, there was fog in Fortuna, too, but by the
time we had finished the oral part of the checkride, the fog had burnt
off (or blown off) and we had fairly windy/bumpy weather. I
accomplished my first really good soft field landing today. I've been
practicing, but haven't greased it like today! The examiner was about
six foot four, so I got to see a tall person fold into a coupe. His
knees even cleared the bottom of the insturment panel.

Much more looking forward to the spring weather coming now.

Linda
