All,
I would like to encourage anyone who can to attend the fly-in at
Jefferson City, MO (KJEF) next Saturday. Jefferson City Flying
Service is one of the best FBOs around in the Midwest, and Nick's
Restaurant, which will be open just for this event, is a great place
to get fried chicken and country ham. Nick's will be open from 10 am
until 2 pm, I believe. Four of us from this area (St. Louis) are
going, but I'm the only Ercoupe - the others are two Mooneys and a
Cherokee (at least Fred had a hand in that one!).
I think Andy Anderson is flying up from Harrison, Arkansas, but I'm
not sure what other Ercoupers are planning to attend. If you want to
see a top-notch FBO, this would be a great event to check out. And
remember - JCFS always has free lunch on Friday (with ice cream from
a local creamery, too!). Lots of good hangar flying takes place on
Fridays, and you never know when a jam session might break out...
JEF is easy to fly into - it has a tower, but traffic is always light
and they are friendly folks. Check out a diagram before going - they
use runway 9/27 as a taxiway most of the time!
