Linda,
Thank you for a wonderful story. In the past I have flown into several
major airports in light aircraft and always felt the same apprehension
contemplating the flight and the satisfaction of successfully
completing what I had trained so hard to be able to do. During the
previous discussion on Private Pilots flying as Sport Pilots entering
into Class B airspace, my research identified the conflict between what
the Federal Register said the FAA proposed rule would say and what the
final rule ended up saying. I still don't know for sure what is legal
and what is not concerning a Private Pilot and Class B airspace. My
personal feeling at this point is that I probably will never want to do
so. However, should doing so ever become necessary I hope to retain the
necessary skills to do so including the ability to key my radio and
declare an emergency which is the right of any pilot including students
flying solo.
