Hey Mark;

Wow, I got your attention. Happy New Year!

I remember the fly in and probably still have some pictures of the turnout. It
sure was a good one. Thanks for giving your presentation on the then new wing
spar problem and your fix, the one that everyone thought you were crazy for
doing! Say hello to the Mrs.and my apologies, it's been many, many years. Was
she the Mrs. at the time of the old Fly-In of about '96-97?

Glad that Dallas held onto the "directorship". I'd be offending those
Houstonites if I said we deserve it ;-) so I won't say anything. Tried like
hell to get to your last bash, but sometimes work gets in the way of having
fun, doggone it. Heard about the convention. Tough hosting one, eh?

No, I'll disagree with the "what you do" statement, maybe I'm misunderstanding.
Unless personal, everyone needs to get something out of it when acting on
everyone's behalf. I would hate to think that there are directors doing the
job only for their personal satisfaction.

When an entity has a plan or method that works that can be beneficial then it
should be emulated. That entity could be social, professional, business or
family and the benefactors could be social, professional, business or family.
Anyone can choose any path they desire to take that interpret would return the
most. That's what it's all about, giving back.

I do consider the EOC as the Type Club, not a social club. If I'm wrong please
let me know. I've got a load of people that are ready to pull the trigger and
realize they have a lot of work to do. The Ercoupe needs an official type club
and they need it now.

Agreed that this yahoo group is a good one, I enjoy the camaraderie, the
joking, the tech stuff, the different personalities and discussions. It's no
secret that I'll kick the wall when I have to. I'm the official wall kicker
'round these parts.

Ouch, your next paragraph starts to sound offensive but that's okay, you know
what you mean. My screen name? You're interpretation is a good chuckle, I've
heard it before. If you have the time or desire do some real research and it
may just surprise you! No it's not Japanese for "wall kicker", but now that
you mention it, yea Mark, I'm full of shit. And I guess you can see there's
even a worse side! ;-)

Beech Party? We had plans (hotel, car, etc.), my airplane was in for paint, my
bud is in the health care profession and had an emergency so we had to cancel.
Went last year and the Tullahoma museum is grand! Imagine rebuilding a
Staggerwing? The Beech birthday party (the one with the invitations) was at
OSH and yes, I was there with the B2OSH group.

The B2OSH group is different than ABS. See Mike Parish for details on that.
ABS sponsors an annual convention (which I don't have the wallet for) and a
dinner at OSH. There are offshoots that sponsor education, safety and aircraft
inspection around the country open to members and non members alike. The
individual regions have many social events.

Your participation on this list would be valuable, it's needed and I really
encourage it. With your knowledge you are doing Ercoupedom a disservice by
only communicating privately. Most of the folks here "lurk" to learn and when
someone as knowledgeable as you keeps to themselves what's posted can quickly
turn from an old wives' tale into the absolute truth. If you see something
that needs tweaking why just go ahead and do it? We won't talk about how much
you know behind your back! So check your ego at the door and help those not as
fortunate with some of that great info.

Oh, and anyone who confuses the internet with a cute little club, could find it
backfiring one day!

I understand what you've said about membership and contacting. I interpret
what you're saying as that it is of no benefit to the current Ercoupe Social
Club to seek out new owners and offer them membership in exchange for their
services.

Whew! Looks like status quo accepted as presented. I'll rest my case!

Subject: [ercoupe-flyin] Yes - Ercoupe Owners Club

  AL -AL- AL

I remember well, when we helped you host a regional fly-in, right here in
Terrell. Tx
Had a great time doing it. Inspired me to take the Regional position when it
was offered to me.

Not because -I could do it SO much better, but because of the people in the
club. Inspired me and my wife Melissa and our Kids to become a part of a Larger
Flying Family and contribute ( give back ) ...

We have held 2 conventions GREAT TURNOUTS and 2 regional fly-ins, since,
which consisted of nothing more than a pancake breakfast and old time cars,
Trophies for cars and planes .....

It's not so much as what you do -but what you get out of doing it... Don't
you agree.

The Ercoupe Owners Club is just that- a club - be part of it or not - it is
not a corporate conglomerate,
  a "Society" or ASSociation.

The EOC is a family, dysfunctional at times , like any family....

There are those who watch out for the younger ones... Lynn, Syd, et al. and
offer numerous hours to this list due to the fact that some of the info is
absurd and they try to keep ppl from trying to spend their $$ mindlessly, or
worse.

There are those who throw their hissy fits to get their way, and are pacified
for a while. Get booted off list, and gets moderated by somebody, who has
proclaimed adults need moderated. FIGHT - HOLLER- Get it off your Chest,- CALL
NAMES - Take Offense - GET MAD - AGREE TO DISAGREE.....No offense Tommy

BUT you know Al DeMarzo's screen name is a little offensive to me... NO SHIT
O AL ... I can only assume that means Al is not full of it right?? Dunno

I am a lurker, I watch and LOL and ROFLMAO. and exchange emails directly to
ppl not on the big list.
I enjoyed some of the hissy fits on the old list, great entertainment.

Not all of us can afford to go to a fly-out/in every weekend nor once a
month. How often does the ABS have flyins.- sponsored by who. ??

AL - DID you Attend and contribute to THE BEECH BIRTHDAY BASH - The invite
alone was PRICELESS. GREAT STAGGERWINGS...

We all have alot to do these days, and some of us get out and about more than
others. The Internet is a cute Club. for friends to share pictures and tales.
and how to tips-- when we cannot participate in any other way.

Some of us speak from the gut and other have flowery words. Some have a
spring board to bounce their words off from... GET OUT - GET SOME SUN.... HAVE
FUN... JOIN A CLUB ...GET A HOBBY....

Each one of the family does what he/she can do, and contributes in his/her
own way.
IT is not about 1 person Leading the Pack - I BELIEVE THAT IS CALLED
DICTATORSHIP.

Now if you were a member - you would be in the membership directory -thus
getting contacted by someone. lets not confuse us, with registering a coupe
with the FAA in OK City.. and Being a Member.
The FAA doesn't notify the EOC when someone registers a coupe.

I like my Family REALLY WELL -- IN FACT I LOVE MY FAMILY. - We have A GREAT
FAMILY.

this Yahoo mailing list is "the" means of communication between Coupe
enthusiasts.

  well put!!!!! enthusiasts

Don't mean to look like I'm picking on AL folks- He just has the majority of
the subject lines on my PC..
