Am I remembering wrong or did I read that the original bulb was a #6
automotive bulb?

The correct replacement bulb is a Whelenn (yes Al, Whelen) W1290-14, 14V
26W. 1.857amps.

I believe the bulb is 14V 26Watt which is 1.847 amps per bulb.

My bad, I just completed installing a Whelen Comet Flash system
on the 4 seater, so It was on my mind. I don't know if Grimes is still
in aviation, but their product info should also be posted there! I
wonder if the Aircraft Spruce catalog lists it too!

                Al,

why the Whelen site? We do have Grimes lights.
I guess Grimes is out of Business?

Also I assume one can find the right information about
the bulbs in our maintenance manuals.

                Eli;

Sorry I can't be more direct, but if you don't get an
answer, dial up the Whelen web site and they should have a listing of
the draw for each bulb #.

What is the electrical load, in either amps or
watts, for each navigation
                        light (Grimes B and tail)?
