Spook, I flew in to Oshkosh last year with 2 fellows in a Piper Saratogo. We rented a car and stayed in Ripon at a college for $30.00 per night which also included a good hot breakfast, cafeteria style. Parking at Oshkosh was not a problem and there are shuttle buses which run around the airport frequently servicing all the parking areas, so I think the longest wait for a bus was probably 10 or 15 minutes. In your case, I would drive which would eliminate the commercial flying hassles. I've been told that the drive around Chicago if you're coming from that direction (from the east) is terrible, so be aware. I don't know if you can get a commercial flight right into Oshkosh-probably not. I'm going to try to arrange to camp this year as this will provide the best opportunity to meet all you wonderful people.
IMHO Darick -------------- Original message -------------- From: ght <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Folks, For those of us who don't have a plane to fly to Osh, do you think the event experience would be better by driving there or flying commercially and renting a car when I get there? What is the auto parking situation like? I imagine it's a nightmare but do you have any tips? If the day's events start at 9, would getting to the parking area at 7 or 8 get you a parking place that's not miles from the entrance? Thanks, Spook
