Just a reminder that we are planning a fly-in at Mountain View, Arkansas (7M2) June 6-7-8. I have received a few inquiries, but no registrations. For those of you who have planned events in the past, what should I expect for interest and reservations? I know it's a bit early, and I know that I usually plan on something but don't actually sign up until closer to the event. Is that normal?
If you are even considering it, please let me know just so I know I'm not whistling in the wind... Mountain View was hit by a tornado on Feb. 5, then got the largest snowstorm in history in early March. Last week record rains caused flooding along the White River. But despite all of that, the town is still going strong, and the places we are planning on visiting are still OK, with the possible exception of JoJo's Catfish Wharf, which appeared to be under about 2 feet of water as we drove past it last Wednesday. That location may need to change, but maybe not. If you're curious about Mountain View, stop in any time. If you need a car I have an old Blazer parked at the airport, and if you call me or email me I can tell you how to get the key. The electronic display broke recently, so I use my GPS as a speedometer...but it drives fine, and has 4WD, too. Any advice on how to make this a success would be greatly appreciated!
