The last 20 yrs that I worked, I was involved with building Nuclear plants. The
technology available since then has been astounding. The projection now is that
you will be able to buy a fully self contained Nuclear power generating plant
in possibly the next 10 years.
At the beginning of the Clinton administration, Argone National Labratory here
in the Chicago area claimed to have a process they were going to operate on
fuel from decommissioned wepons. The Clinton administration held it up for a
year , then had it canceled. It was to use up all its "burnt" fuel, so ther
would not be the storage problem that all the hyope is generated about today.
To give you something to research, If our process now is fission, I think the
new process was called fusion, or vice versea. As a result of it being
cancelled, 5 nations are going to gether to fund it and sponsor it to be built
in France.
