I worked with him as an air traffic controller at the FAA Washington Air RouteTraffic Control Center in Leesburg, Va years ago. He was an excellent pilot and after he retired he took a job with a flight safety company and would instruct various pilots all over the U.S. Was always a calm cool controller and flight instructor.
