I knew that GA friendly stuff wasn't going to last.

  Subject: [ercoupe-flyin] New Airport KBGG

We have a new privately funded commercial airport just up the road near
Branson Missouri. The identifier is KBGG. It just opened for air traffic on
Monday and isn't on a sectional chart yet. Famous Dave's BBQ has a restaurant
in the terminal along with a miniature Bass Pro Shop. Tower controlled 7140 x
150 foot runway. Sounds like a perfect location for a $100 Hamburger flight,
right? Hold on partner! Check out this note I just received today:

  "Andy,

Just FYI, I was up at the Branson Airport FBO yesterday and they told me the
fees they are charging for GA planes. If you land and pull up to the GA ramp
they charge a $13 landing fee and a $20 handling fee just for pulling up to the
GA ramp. They waive all fees if 20 gallons of fuel or more is purchased. It
was my understanding that there is no fee for touch and goes, but I wouldn't
swear to that. They definitely didn't seem GA friendly when I spoke with them.
Just thought you might get this out to some people so nobody gets surprised by
a $33 charge.

  Thanks, BC"

Since most of our coupes won't need 20 gallons for a fill up and the current
100LL price at KBGG is $4.24 you might need an extra $100 for that burger
flight. If I can talk them into waiving the fees for Ercoupes, I will post
again. For now, if you want to fly to Branson, the airport at Point Lookout
(KPLK) is close and friendly and Harrison AR (KHRO) is not far south.
