Andy, In our SoCal area, landing fees are in that range at both Santa Barbara and Hawthorne, among others. In both cases, I spoke with the FBO manager and explained the limitations of our fuel needs. One conversation was in the context of a proposed local EOC brunch fly- in; the other was just so I could land to pick up an instructor. Both agreed to waive the minimums, as long as we filled-up in good faith.
