Hi Nick,
Off the top of my head, you need the Airspeed, Compass and Altimeter.
The Garmin has no input from your engine or electrical system.
For the engine, you need a non-electrical Oil Temperature, Oil Pressure
and Tachometer (unless you have a STC or 337 Field Approval to remove
them and substitute electrical or digital alternates).
For the electrical system, you need the Ammeter.
There is other required installed equipment that is not "instruments".
