Driving from Florida to Texas this weekend, stopped to see the Battleship Alabama, in Mobile. It was an unexpected surprise to find all together, an F-14, F15, F16, F17 (yes, F-17) and an F-18. The F-17 was a prototype passed over by the Air Force, when it chose General Dynamic's F-16. The F-17 went to be the foundation for development of the F-18. I am not sure if there are other places where you can see these 5 consecutive fighters together. These birds, plus a quite a few more, the battleship, and a WW2 submarine make this a very worthwhile stop while in the Mobile area.
