Hi Richard,

I think the order of what we did was as follows:

Pulled to the right under braking
    New fluid
    Discs cleaned and callipers cleaned
Pistons removed and polished plus insides of cylinders
No change and by now brakes wouldn¹t hold on power checks
Noticed left disc worn more than right
New pads fitted to left (only one set in the UK at the time!!!)

Pulled to left under braking (as I had got used to compensating for right
this was frightening!)
Decided to buy new discs when in US, plus the second pair of pads
    Fitting discs solved problem
Head goes through windshield if seat belt not worn
Can safely brake on landing without steering, absolutely straight

Conclusion braking effectiveness is dependent on position of piston at
wheel, so pad and disc thickness needs to be equal.

I hope that helps, but I suspect it won¹t!

BR,

Mike
