Paul.

I am flying behind Eisemanns and I can not find anything wrong with them.

Mine lasted 1000 hours and over 25 years when one condenser started failing.

But it is a sturdy, simple construction. Despite the discussion about parts
availability and being NOS, I find them trustworthy.

Slicks cost more and are good too, but need a check per AD after 500 hours and
also have an AD on the impulse coupling I think.

Inside they are similar to the Eisemanns. These mags are all of the same
construction.

One thing in favor of the slicks is that mechanics know them - this is in case
you get stranded somewhere.

But this is a rare thing anyway.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Eissman la4 mags

Hi all, my recently aquired 415c with c75 has eissman la4 mags of unknown age
as the logs were incomplete. My A&P suggests that if they are determined to
need replacing that I use slick mags as although the Eissmans can be bought
rebuilt from skyport at a lesser price, theircparts are 60 yrs old even if new.
whereas the slicks are more modern, albiet twice as expensive. Your thoughts?
Thanks

Paul Drake, 415c, c-75
