Are they able to see & been seen from their prespcetive. some of them are
fairly small & can they see us whit out a transponder signal ?

I really don't want to share the airspace with them.
Part of the motiviation to avoid traffic ("see and be seen") is the fact that
the life of the pilot is at increased risk if he or she doesn't stay alert for
traffic. That powerful motivation is removed when you are sitting on the ground
just pushing a joysitck around.
