I would like to run eric on my asus eee 901 (48+32GB, ubuntu 10.04).
However, it seems that the minimum frame size of eric is 1175x668
pix.
Unfortunately that does not work on my 1024x600 display. Can I
tweek one
of the *.ui files to reduce the min size? If so which and how do I
get
eric working more or less properly after that.
Thanks, Janwillem

You should be able to shrink it to your liking. Is it a special
dialog,
that is too big, or is it the main window? If it is the later, try to
rearrange the toolbars first

Detlev

Thanks for your reply. It is the main window, the one wherein the
source
text is edited.
I have set in Settings>Preferences>Interface>Interface Layout="Floating
windows".
Then I can reduce the height of the floating edit window to my liking
but the smallest width is 1175 (as measured by making a screen print of
the window). That I would like to be 1024.
Does that answer the question in your remark?

Kind of. However, over here I am able to shrink it way below 1175. I
am using
the sidebars layout, which is the preferred one.

Detlev

Most probably I am overlooking some trivial option but I haven't the
faintest idea where to look.
Have you tried *disabling* various toolbars? e.g. Quick search input box
takes too much space, I have it disabled. Ditto for other toolbars which
are not really useful in the edit view.

Yes!! Thanks a lot, that works. Could have thought of that myself but didn't.
Cheers, Janwillem
