Can you please post the configuration that you are using, it seems like
a configuration error, otherwise both the target endpoint as well as the
endpoint inside the Send mediator on the *inSequence* would invoke the
external service. If you put the Send mediator in the outSequence then
the response message will be sent to that endpoint defined.
There is no clear distinction between using the Send mediator wrapped
endpoint and target endpoint, target endpoint is just a convenient way
of configuring proxy services, but from the point of functionality there
is no difference at all.
I can assist you on this problem if you can post the configuration.
