So I if summarize your comments it would be better to:

1. Instead of sending the sound information to the sound card, better 
saving it in a .wav file, what could be much more OS independent.

2. Using the taps. Since I don't know exactly how this should be done I 
would be grateful to get some information or an example on this. I can't 
find README.tapping anywhere although I got the information that it exists.
