I just grabbed the latest CVS snapshot. It built on Solaris and NT (specifically Windows 2000). On Solaris the binaries run. On NT ethereal.exe and tethereal.exe both die with a memory violation.
The debugger claims the problem is the assertion at the top of static int proto_register_field_init(header_field_info *hfinfo, int parent) in epan/proto.c The pointer value in hfinfo appears to be bogus (0x00000015), but I haven't (yet) figured out where it is getting clobbered. Is anyone else seeing this? -- -Andrew Feren Cetacean Networks, Inc. Portsmouth, NH
