I just grabbed the latest CVS snapshot.  It built on Solaris and NT
(specifically Windows 2000).  On Solaris the binaries run.  On NT
ethereal.exe and tethereal.exe both die with a memory violation.

The debugger claims the problem is the assertion at the top of 

static int
proto_register_field_init(header_field_info *hfinfo, int parent)

in epan/proto.c

The pointer value in hfinfo appears to be bogus (0x00000015), but I
haven't (yet) figured out where it is getting clobbered.

Is anyone else seeing this?
