It hangs a short while after the file is loaded. You can click around in the file for about 3sec or so (if I'm quick I can look at about 10 packets) & then it hangs.
As for your other question, the network layer resolution is turned off. I've attached a file which shows the way that the capture file was loaded.
Also I discovered today that I can do the following and not have ethereal hang:
- load the same file with MAC layer resolution turned off (network layer still off)
- reload it with MAC layer resolution on (network layer still off).

When does it hang? When reading in the file? Does it hang with
*network-layer* name resolution turned off? The network trace you
attached had TCP connections to port 53, which is the DNS port.
