Unless I misunderstand what you're saying, this doesn't happen for me. You're saying that if multiple expressions are in the filter history drop-down box, and you select one by clicking on it with the mouse (either by unclicking the drop-down widget button and then clicking on a list item, or by holding down the mouse button, highlighting a list item and deselecting), the expression you selected never shows up in the filter textbox?

You're implying then that this works if you use some other selection method, like the keyboard? And that it doesn't happen if you only have one entry?

At the moment I'm using Redhat 9, GTK+/Glib 1.2.10, and a CVS build from earlier today.

What *does* happen to me and bug me is that history only seems to store manually entered filters. Most, if not all auto-generated display filters don't appear to be added to the filter history list.
