As there is no easy way to select a font to be italic, this is very error "intensive" :-( as it's platform specific.
| It might be an idea to only turn the color to red if the syntax is | wrong, and using the default color if syntax is ok. | This might help color blind people as well (at least a bit).
I remember from some tools that error entries were rendered in a slanted (italic) variant of the base font. Maybe this is more in-line with the GNOME HIG?
Guy Harris had to do lot's of reworking of my code, doing the zoom feature I'd implemented some days ago, using font changing.
