Hello John, Are you running a GTK1 or a GTK2 version? It only works with GTK2.
Additionally, do a quick test by starting Ethereal by clicking on the *program file* in the install directory (the shortcuts have a "Start in" value which prevents the library to be used). I tested with both the winXP theme (Silver color scheme is my favorite) and with the classic theme. Both work (the widgets are taken from the correct theme).
