Shiang-Ming, I have recently complied under Cygwin following the instructions in README.win32. The cygwin setup packages you need are now at cygnome.sourceforge.net.
Run the cgywin setup installer as described under "Installation" on http://cygnome.sourceforge.net/install.html. I got all the packages I needed from the above site. I my memory serves me correctly, I needed: 1. glib 2. glib-devel 3. gtk+ 4. gtk+-devel But there might be some others too. If you get stuck, mail me and I'll have another look. You will also need to install Cygwin/XFree86, again via the cygwin setup installer but probably not downloaded from the cygnome site. This only creates a viewing ethereal, not a capturing ethereal. If anyone knows how to build a capturing ethereal under cygwin, please let me know.
