Hi,

To strengthen the "Red Queen effect" [1] I think it would be good to see what
others are doing:

http://www.gnome.org/~davyd/gnome-2-12/

Well, it looks that there are some OS-X inspirations... Anyway, something
notable:

* New clipboard management, based on the Freedesktop.org specification and
tightly integrated with GNOME
* More software is taking advantage of the Hardware Abstraction Layer
* Nautilus ... now has a side bar that shows your bookmarks
* email an entire folder, compressed as a single zip file
* About Me dialog
* usable services management tool
* new usable app: Keyring Manager

I leave the features without comments intentionaly.

Even they are just small obvious steps, nothing revolutionary, they show that
things are improving. It is good to see that finally applications are more user
oriented.

Regards,

Stefan Urbanek
