I will take a look.
I personally prefer to have a simply file manager.
So it leaves me two choices:
the first is to strip down GWorkspace.
and the second is to improve OpenSpaceManager.
While I prefer to the second choice,
I wonder how well the tool "FileOperation" work so far ?
Is there any known serious bug ?
Can it handle multiple file operation at the same time ?
Is there any locking machenism ?
That's the part I cannot handle properly. :)

Sorry to disappoint you, but FileOperation needs some fixes to work
reliably. Sometimes it simply doesn't execute a file operation and
sometimes the core app simply doesn't notice a change... I've stopped
working on OpenSpace before I could make them reliable.
