The problem with services is that they mirror the call-return paradigm of function calls; a service takes some data, processes it, and returns it. We want something that takes data, processes it and passes it on. We could wrap services nicely, however, so that you pass data to the wrapper, which then passes it to the service, gets the return value, and passes it on. This only works for one-to-one filters, however, not for one-to-many or many-to-one filters. Can anyone more familiar with the service infrastructure comment on how difficult it would be to apply services to this?
