Porting Cocoa software is not as easy as people think.
They tend to use QuickTime, CoreImage, CoreFoundation
  and others in various places.
None of them are easy to be ported.
And since writing software is relatively easy on Mac,
they tend to have a lot of features which may not be necessary and
cause problems.
For example, I did try a couple time to port iTerm, but end up writing TermX.
Because xcode is so easy to use, I often see people write unorganized code
  and still work with xcode.
So I generaly only port them when the effort is less than writing
one from scratch,
which actually happens more than you think.
