I don't know what you mean by GNUstep packages. I installed the latest svn GNustep tree yesterday. Installing GNUstep was no problem at all. Etoile of course went not through without further ado. I would say this is a bug, even if the problem does not occur on Linux for whatever reason. I will try to check that out as soon as I can. But I first have to get a few other issues sorted out, e.g. logging out. GWorkspace does not work at all for me (as usual) which is no problem for me since I have and would like to use my own anyway.
