These messages are normal and everything should work fine now. Do you have the SystemTaskList.plist as described in this post: http://www.etoile-project.org/etoile/blog/2007/08/toil-02-troubleshoot.html ? It has all the applications etoile_system will run, including window manager, menu bar and dock. If you log into xterm and run etoile_system, it should start everything.
