I observe a similar problem here. I cannot register a name with gdomap and gdnc returns immediately if I try to start it. We currently have a libobjc2 issue that might explain it. When a class gets registered in the runtime, +load is not always called immediately. This breaks -forwardInvocation: which is used by NSDistantObject, and could explain why name registration with NSConnection doesn't work.
