It's Valentine's Day people, where is the love? I really didn't expect rabid
criticism of an idea to trade Dead shows more easily. I guess I'm just old
school. I wanted to hear everyone's opinion before I replied. The only
reason I suggested the "closed" model is because I don't have any fancy
database software to run this with. I'm doing it all by hand. Besides, I
think a smaller circle is more personal.

To the person who pointed out that this is very much like the etree.org
database that lists who has each show, you are right. The difference is that
you don't have to grovel or set up a trade. You will have a login at your
disposal. Yes, a popular show might take some time to get but at least you
know it will be there when it's your "turn." If each group is small enough,
you won't have a rediculous number of people hammering your server. As for
the question: "What do you do when you 'close' the group and then new seeds
appear on the scene?" You assume I don't plan to keep trading through every
existing avenue. Of course I do.

I'm offended by people who are trying to put this in a negative light when
they don't know me or what I intend to do. Who else has offered up 200 shows
on this list? Lately, all I see are ISOs and I want this and I want that. Of
course, there are exceptions to that rule. Look, this is just another way to
trade. To me, it's an improvement over what exists. If you don't think so,
maybe you want to offer suggestions to make it better rather than attacking?
In the end, it might not be for you. (It's just a box of rain...) Either
way, there is plenty of room in the Grateful Dead universe for etree/etrade,
nycheads, CDead, GDLive, Furthur, Direct Connect and any other method of
trading anyone comes up with.

Finally, for all of you who replied and liked the idea, I am going through
the email as quick as I can. You'll be hearing from me very soon. For all
the attack dogs who just bit off my arm, you might want to drop it on the
ground, take a step back and look at the hand that was trying to feed you.
Tiff once chopped off part of Jerry's finger... now you bit off my arm. I'll
do it like Jerry... no hard feelings. If you change your mind, you've got my
email address. Even though this topic was deemed fair play, for the sanity
of all involved, please keep it off the list.

WOB: 1 login to my server all day on Monday 2/18. If I can see your list,
I'll put something up you don't have.
