Any time anyone comes up with similar hard evidence that an artist is OK
with taping, if that artist is not already listed in Kurt Kemp's Bands
That Allow Taping (BTAT), the information should be forwarded to Kurt and
Mike Wagner, who's helping Kurt maintain the web list.

BTAT List home is at http://btat.wagnerone.com/ (usually more current than
the many mirrors out there)
There's a submission link on the home page to suggest adding a new artist.

Dylan, I don't know enuff about Casey to complete their questionnaire, so
I'll leave that to you. Besides, Kurt asks for the first-hand experience
rather than hearsay accounts, so he can follow up and verify with the source.

RE: the other related chronic topic of ISOs for unlisted bands, While I
agree that more explicit FAQs and TOS's won't help much as to newbies who
refuse to even glance at either, I believe those are the minority of
newcomers. We could probably do better in drawing newbies' attention to
these fundamental principles, perhaps in welcoming emails to new
subscribers to the lists, that we stick very closely to those principles
and that Kurt's list is the principal resource for determining whether the
band you're interested in can be traded/ISO'd on etree facilities.

I notice that our clearest declaration of this policy is on the "Legal"
page, which is a good place for it but also a page most people will skip
over. The few references/links to BTAT as the principal listing site are
relatively obscure, too. Since unmentionables and the chitstorm following
their mention is such a recurrent WOB distraction on the lists, perhaps it
would help to more prominently mention it on the lists subscription page,
with links to Kurt's list and the ShnsInCirc page, as our currently defined
listings of artists who are OK to trade over etree. Between a clear
mention of that on the sign-up page and a very explicit discussion of that
rule in a welcoming email to new subscribers maybe we can do a better job
of pre-educating the new folks, including those who won't browse elsewhere
on the etree website looking at faqs before diving in, posting
inappropriate ISOs, getting flamed, and stirring up this same old bucket of
chit.

my unsolicited opinion of the day,

w
