I've taken to running Leafnode, an NNTP server for small networks, on my home system. It has many desirable features: - Downloads news in large gulps, so local access is very fast. - News is available even when your Internet connection is shut down. - Only downloads recently requested newsgroups Available at <http://wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de/~krasel/leafnode.html>. If you are using cyber-dyne's or willamette.net's news service, be aware that you need a Y2K patch from me. :( R.
