Find out what device your zip drive is using dmesg in a terminal. If it's
there you should be able to mount it. If you have a link on your kde
desktop it's probally pointing to the wrong device. In a terminal window
you could mount the drive by typing
mount /dev/hd? /mnt
The ? is your zip drive. You could make a directory /zip instead of using
/mnt. If it mounts change the kde link to the correct mount point.

It doesn't surprize me that windows would do this. You shold be able to
get around te Lilo problem by using a boot floppy. Not unless they want
to own your machine and want to control what you do with your machine.
