Linux on a Macintosh

I would like to install Linux on to my G4 Macintosh. Can I bring my computer
to one of the Tursday meetings? Should I bring my monitor as well? Will
there be nice linux type of people there to help me and hold my hand? I am a
total newbie with linux. I have the Linuxppc 2000 distribution. The folks at
linuxppc state that this distribution will work with my machine. I found
some of the instructions to be a little confusing so I could really use some
help.
