Well, I got my server up and running on linux. Mandrake couldn't cut
it, so I loaded Debian. Thanks to Seth, Mike, Tim and the many others who
helped me with a crash course on debian at the clinic last night.

One processor was pretty cool. Then I recompiled my kernel to enable SMP
support. Now both processors are running. I was playing with the
atlantis and sproingies screensavers. Sproingies is pretty smooth on
this bad boy. Processor utilization only shows 50% though. Apparently
it isn't a multithreaded app. Too bad.

Linux doesn't recognize the RAID controller, so I'm just running off of
an IDE drive.

The linux kernel does support I20, if enabled. However even though these
controllers are Adaptec I20 able, the support didn't work. In fact my
kernel wouldn't load. It just tried about 500 different target id's ?
and kept trying and trying....

One thing I learned, when you are specifying how much memory to use on
boot, don't forget the m!
boot: linux mem=2048
does not mean 2048m. The kernel wasn't too happy about that! (It only
recognized 64mb, so I had to tell it how much was there.)
