I made these observations and assumptions: I tried to boot knoppix on three separate computers.
I recently loaded RH 8.0 on these all of these computers in a dual boot configuration. The boot process w/RH was flawless and there have been no modifications to the BIOS. I tried to boot knoppix on a fourth computer that was not dual boot and nothing happened. When I insert the knoppix CD in my CDROM drive it autoruns and a dos window opens with the title 'Finished-autorun,' then mozilla opens to the index.html. Under the English version of the info page it says: * Put this CD into the CD drive. * Make sure the BIOS is set up to boot from CD (before the hard disk) * Restart your computer. I assume that, as long as there is no boot floppy in the floppy drive, that the precedence of booting, from a floppy or a CD, doesn't matter. I will try changing the order. I conclude that there is something wrong with the knoppix 3.1 disk. I hope to get Knoppix 3.2 from someone in the near future, as I don't have a high speed connection any more. Thanks For the suggestions, any others? Brian _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
