Uhh, "can't read' could mean a number of things; it could be orthogonal to illiteracy. Think of all the pre-literate Mexican kids, using Linux in their schools, or blind persons, who cannot *see* to 'read' -- in this case there are other methods, like being read to (emacspeak or similar) as well as folks who use linux without a screen to read from! Admittedly, reading is a helpful skill in our mailing list's community... and btw, how helpful would pre-literate shell scripters be? Imagine getting directions across town or talking about the weather with one of these imaginary fiends ;^)
