thanks kbob! that was a good meeting. you've raised some really good points!

i checked out eweb: nothing available that is suitable. oh well.

hopefully the website will stay current now. my friend bill stopped on his way home at the buzz last night (i had not mentioned to him that we had moved to strand). seems like we're on the right track now and things will stay more predictable and accountable. website is a great way to keep everyone informed who is not on the mailing list.

i had one nomination for officers: sergeantat-arms.....ME! someone has to control neal!!!! ha ha ha!

Thank you, Larry, for taking notes and posting them so quickly.

I just have a couple of comments.

Jim Darrough's Boy Scout troop has raised some money and purchased
a 160 GB disk for chezgeek.euglug.net

Actually, it was Jim Darrough's Valley Radio Club. We are most grateful.

Website updates:
Jason Van Cleve volunteered to update the website. euglug.org

Thank you, Jason.

Structure and governance:
how do we organize anarchy

Ken raised the point that our club lacks structure, and things aren't getting done because there's no clear assignment of responsibility. I agree. In the next few clinics, I'd like to see if we can assign some functions and volunteer/appoint/elect/draft individuals to take responsibility for those functions. At the moment, we have

        president - me
        vice president - bobc
webmaster - jason v c (transitioning from rob and beaker)
mailing list admins - jamie, ed and me
        (did I forget anyone?)

The immediate problem, that we don't know where we're meeting until
the last moment, is apparently resolved. Starting next week, we're
back at OPN until we find a permanent place. Ten of us have
volunteered to check out thirteen possible permanent homes and report
back. One of the thirteen *has* to pan out. I will be pestering the
volunteers to follow through, BTW. So if Larry listed your name,
get busy!

The long term problem, though, remains. We're an awfully loose-knit
and unstructured group, and it's hurting us. We'll work on improving
that.

There will be more business meetings in the near future.
