Sorry I don't have the original post but lately somebody on the list 
mentioned that they could not find a graphics program for Linux that does 
batch converts.An ex Amiga graphics program is available for Linux and does 
batch converts.You can get a 30 working demo 
here:  http://www.idruna.com/Downloads/
Installed on Mandrake 10 and runs fine The Amiga program was Photogenics 
and is the same name for Linux
