And that's a good thing, Jake ;) I can't count the numbers of times I've helped some poor soul that's been rooted: "Ah they got in via portmap" "What's portmap and why is it running on my web server?" But really, that's not the main thing that makes OpenBSD secure, in my opinion. It's the attention to code correctness. Theo's anal patch to ksh this morning is but one example of that ;) God, I'd sticking up for OpenBSD and using it as the main OS on my PC laptop. What's the world coming to? /jgw PS: Anyone messed with hotplugd yet?? It's pretty cool, and I don't think many people realize how cool yet. You can define actions (shell scripts) that run when a particular device is plugged in. Nice for automatically downloading and dating and processing photos with literally no work: cp /mnt/camera/DSC*.JPG /home/www/pictures/$DATE && makethumbs.sh :) _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
