First allow me to apologize for an off-topic post. Now on to my question:
I used to be security-knowledgeable, but I let my cert lapse and haven't kept up. I'm hoping someone here will know the answer. I have the unfortunate job of setting up a new XP workstation as part of a Linux server project I'm doing. How do you get XP patched enough to safely connect it to the Internet when you can't safely connect it to the Internet to download the needed patches? Last I knew, you were OK as long as the XP box is behind a firewall. Is this still true?
