I've been using the versions of gaim and kopete in Debian testing/unstable, on and off, with a Yahoo! account, no trouble for the last year or so although I haven't used gaim for a few months. For versions, I have:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ kopete --version
Qt: 3.3.3
KDE: 3.3.2
Kopete: 0.9.2

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ gaim --version
Gaim 1.1.1

How bout you?

Because Yahoo makes changes to their protocols to keep other

establish connection. Yahoo needs to get off their a*ses and
update the linux version of Yahoo Messenger.

Hey guys -

what's the problem with GAIM and KOPETE not working with
YAHOO? I have no problem accessing the Yahoo IM from my cell, but using these
two above, don't make the connection to Yahoo's IM. GAIM and KOPETE work fine
with ICQ and AIM.
