the bigger the better, you won't be happy with anything less than 256MB

I've got one of the lexar jumpdrives (sport edition) that comes with a
little rubberised key chain thing which keeps the dust out, I've seen
the same model for less than $30 w/o rebates and less than $20 w/

things I keep on mine:
a known good copy of putty (windows ssh client)
passphrase locked copy of my ssh keys
A couple of photos that make good background images.
some kicky mp3s

some things I'd like to find
a tiny emacs clone that can work in a windows console shell
 
other than that there's not much to say about them, they are small and handy

work fine on modern OS's without any fiddling
