As nice as DVD installations seem, my older hardware would not allow it. I
was trying to install on an old Athlon T-Bird 650mhz/Soyo board with 128M
but neither Fedora Core 3 or 4, nor debian would complete the installation
via DVD. I did not download the CD images for core 4 however, I am going to
do so today.

I have also ordered a new Syntax 266AD board with a Duron 1.8G processor.
That and 512Mbytes of memory should do the trick.
What happens is that the DVD versions of Fedora 4 and debian boot properly,
then start installing however I soon get a message that the system can't
find the CD. As I said, I suspect it's the old hardware.

I will report my success or lack thereof later.

Thanks to all, Jim Darrough

I've always used Xine for DVD playback when I watch a movie on my computer.

As for Fedora on DVD... I'm downloading the Fedora 4 torrent now. Hope I
have it eventually :)
