I have a Nikon Coolpix 2200 camera which is supposedly supported by
Gphoto. It is a USB interface.
According to gphoto2, the Coolpix 2200 is a PTP device. Linux doesn't
let you access PTP as a general storage device. Instead, you'll have
to use gphoto2 to read the camera.
Try these commands.
gphoto2 -L # list all files
I get the following error when I do this:
********************************************************************************************
*** Error ***
An error occurred in the io-library ('Unsupported operation'): Camera is
su pported by USB Storage driver.
*** Error (-6: 'Unsupported operation') ***
For debugging messages, please use the --debug option.
Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem.
If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto
developer mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, please run
gphoto2 as follows:
env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug -L
Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments.
************************************************************************************************
I can't seem to get anything but this same error on the other two
commands as well.
gphoto2 -P # get all files
gphoto2 -f some-folder -p some-file
some-folder is a folder listed by gphoto2 -L. It's probably something
like /DCIM/100NIKON. Some-file is a JPEG file something like
DSCN1234.JPG.
You can also use a photo manager such as f-spot or digikam. Those use
libgphoto2 internally.
Incidently, if I try to see my temp drives, the system barfs up the
error of needing a module called _hald_ in order to do so.
I do not understand this. What did you try to do, and where was that
message printed?
