I don't know of a real way to do that, but one thing I can think of is to install the OS both on the internal storage and on the MMC card. Then you could just choose which one to boot to get your settings. Maybe start here ( http://maemo.org/community/wiki/howto_easily_boot_from_mmc_card/)
