-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Garl, you mention that the long, blank loading is a common issue in Ubuntu 7.10, and you have the fix for it. Would you mind posting it whenever you find the link or whatever? I installed 7.10 for my friend recently, on his laptop, and just told him to ignore it, but it's annoying, and doesn't reflect too well on Linux. My thought was that it's a problem with GRUB using the wrong video driver/resolution during booting, but I don't know enough about GRUB to check off-hand, and I've been too lazy to look into it since the install.
Thanks for mentioning that it's a known problem, that helps a bit when looking for solutions. :) - -- - -Ron Smith -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHK8xllChcsgPcYkYRAra+AKCQw1U4HVvCbBzvkIvvpK+0O7rdXQCgwCuF 0c5HapFAjy+gODlfRDJYxA4= =hYrk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list euglug@euglug.org http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
